All Nature By The Yard programs are hands-on and age appropriate. We use live animals, skins, skulls, feathers and other animal and plant artifacts to give the students an authentic, memorable and educational experience.
Programs begin with a classroom presentation, and then, weather permitting, we head outdoors to explore and discover. Some programs continue back inside the classroom, where key points are revisited.
The following programs are designed to support the K-5 core curriculum standards for New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We try to incorporate not only science, but art, literature, math and language arts into all of our programs. It is my belief that all things in nature are connected and the use of the natural resources offers a perfect venue to teach all subjects through science. Specific standards are indicated after the program description.
